Brief Update

The Lord of Leisure | March 10, 2007

Yes I know as i write this, it is 6:21am on a saturday morning. Ever so brief update really, My voice is begining to return, though still needs some way before I can do karaoke!! Saw nat last night for a very brief hello as i didn’t leave work till 8, a nice round 11 hour shift becuase of some numptys unable to do their job and we were getting the blame for it.

In fact I leave for another long day at work today, and possibly the same again tommorow. I hope the money is good, (may charge extra for some ice cream or something, may as well, remember that news story which told us what we all already knew? People fiddle their expenses!! SHOCK!)

Podcast stuff is still on hold for recording until my voice is back in fighting shape. Listened to some of the music My good mate Glyn recommended from the free website licensed under the creative commons license method, and i tell you it’s not half bad. better than some of the other poo out there. Go to his blog by clicking on Mr Russell “Fighting round the world” Crowe! Good one sir!

And hopefully I will get to see the film Spinal Tap this weekend, as someone from work lent me the DVD, saying it was really good. Apparently it appeals to my sense of humour…. :)

24: So much for the week

The Lord of Leisure | March 9, 2007

Well campers, the laid laid plans etc. I haven’t began recording yet, as my throat has decided to go off the deep end, as i am convinced that as a result of standing in a datacenter for days on end with hot hot being blown about, this has resulted in my throat becoming sore, and i can bearly speak.

Some people rejoice at that news. Gits.

Also the time spent in birmingham and one of my plans there would be fantastic as it seems too good to be true, however I may be scuppered due to the degree, which of course is wonderful. I haven’t been this bored for quite some time, assignments abound again on stuff I don’t care, nor having the ablity to write about it as it is pure guess work / coping from wikipedia and one textbook.

I fail to see the benefit but then again this is why i am not in education.

Saturday looks decidedly shacky for the social, so may abandon the night out in chester, just have to what tommorow brings really. Friday hopefully, out with natalie eating and what-have-you. Let’s see how we go and who knows, I may have some good news for a change soon!!

Feel like chicken tonight. Hmm, nice. Oh, and I must have a word about Prison Break, it just seems to go from bad to worse for the two brothers, and I really can’t wait to see how it ends for this series. Great telly. Hotel Babylon is another show i really like, last weeks show with the footballers was great. You knew they were going to get their own back, but it was nice to see them get “done in”. Seems telly is getting slightly better now. Just wait till April now for the return of Doctor Who. Proper bo.

The Myspace page btw is still going well, and i got in touch with someone from school there, Rod who is living in birmingham running a successful business which is fair play. May even get the chance to meet up and chat.

24: Things coming up

The Lord of Leisure | March 3, 2007

Monday: See Natalie for first time in ages.
Tuesday: Appointment in Birmingham
Wednesday: Gym
Thursday: Uni Day, and messing about mainly
Friday: Gym
Saturday: Overtime, and someone’s birthday bash thing.
Sunday: Back to Work again and messing around.

There we are, the overview of the coming week in brief form. There are other things afoot for the summer now, and i am kind of stuck now in terms of how to proceed further on a few bits. So much I want to do this year, and so little money. What a complete bugger it is. I can either go to one thing or go to another, both on the high priority list, and it is do-able. However it does mean losing more weekends to work. Considering that that what i want to do will be hopefully good experiences so it will be worth it, I reckon.

Work on the next podcast begins next week as well, and will be released shortly after with more details on lots of nice things, along with other happenings over the past couple of weeks (it will be a lot shorter, trust me!). Something which gets me, is that these posts are a lot shorter as well, I tend to save what I do for the podcasts now, does this bother anyone?

Anyway, it keeps me away from the spar, drink White Lightening, wearing a hoody and getting all street. Word, and innt gov’ner. Wait that’s a street urchin. Bugger it I don’t know, seems i’m out of touch. This was kind of clear last night, as it seems I am having less and less in common with people i used to know really well a long time ago (not long in the grand scheme of things) and now we can say hello and what have you, but really you get kind of lost. This has happened a lot and really I have no idea what to do.

But then again this is always a two-way thing, and it requires effort on behalf of everyone if it is to stay alive, in terms of friendship and beyond of course. It seems that people will only do things if it is covienent to them. I.e. they wouldn’t have to move away from their doorstep or cost them anything. I have fallen into this catagory as well really so am just as guilty. It’s a sign of people moving on and apart. I know it happens in life, and frankly i should accept it. Bitter pill to swallow though.

24: Just got in.

The Lord of Leisure | March 3, 2007

Hello campers, just a note to say I have just come back from a night out on chester with Sian, Laura and a load of other people I never seen before, it was someone’s birthday or something, and i will say this now. I got bored. The talking bit was good, as at least i can do something. And it seemed everyone else was a lot more lively in Weatherspoons thatn anywhere else.

But got to reflex, (with the legendary sticky floor, made it even more of a legend by getting actual sellotape stuck to my shoes!) well it’s the 80′s stuff. It really is starting to get on my man breasts.

There was one time i go nuts for it, but now it really is beginning to annoy me, and now when i see people going ape over it (that “best days of our life song is one to be singled out), i just wonder why, it’s not that good to me, I would prefer a bit of aerosmith, or Madness, there you go, better suggestions already.

The upstairs was a wee bit better, but the DJ guy they had, said Kasier Cheifs wouldn’t go until after 2am, and until then we were stuck with the well known and loved by all “Generic Beat Music” which sounds all the same to me and bleeds into one another. But i don’t care, i dance all the same.

Got ripped off by a pinball machine, with only one working flipper, and got bored enough to come home early.

My word, i know it looks like it was pure s**t, but it wasn’t really, I had a good laugh with Sian and Laura, talking about all sorts of sillyness. Good to see them again, and well god knows when the next time will be, but i suspect it will better. Chester is not renowned for it’s nightlife. And it is so easy to focus on the negatives in life.
