24: Remember November. For no-one else will…

The Lord of Leisure | November 27, 2006

Forgive the title but it struck me as though most people will get things that happen. and they forget entire months at a time. Just a thought for a minute.

Well campers tis the end of yet another week and so far it is been very mixed really. Two fantastic days and the rest has been pap. Well in terms of the work that has been going on, a project has come to ahead as they say. People are panicking left right and center, tons of things are remaining to do and being perfectly honest, the position I am in, well a fantastic one. This is because for this week: I am the person telling people what needs to be done. It’s a bizarre feeling. A lowly peon telling the management what I need to have happen.
It doesn’t happen that often when for once, your opinion matters and everything you do counts. But when it happens you can’t help, despite all that is happening, feel fantastic. The workload is huge but it is still a strange and good feeling. The Uni work continues abated, never ending though on the plus side I get another two study days off for the work. It’s all working out. Can’t believe it, it seems that when you ask for more time, albeit on a blog, you get it! Someone’s watching over me, or reading this anyway.

The book has not had any additions done to it yet, as this week Uni has had to take over really, but after chatting with a couple of people, first Steve then Nat, it appears that the direction I am going in for it, is not really a good one, as one instance of course, naming people can cause all sorts of problems. In the blog world that is fine, no-one really cares, but for this, because I have been referring to people I know and talking about when it comes to instances that have happened in the past which shaped things now and what is to come, I have held back and the stories within it so far, are incomplete as I have left quite a lot out for fear to certain individuals wanting to come and kill me. Well, them wanting to kill me slightly more than usual any way.

Hence the direction is changing with a new premise. Semi-Biographical on an average year with creative license for many of the events to make it more interesting. I will be drawing on my own life for references to things that happened and it will still be a platform for opinions, however it is no longer about me. Say hello to Alec Colburn.

“Despite the slightly cool-sounding but ultimately crap name, Alec has been living on this merry earth around 24 years of his life. In that time he has seen and been a part of much. Family struggles, who doesn’t have those? There have been events which have shaped his very personality, and he is far more cynical than he ever cares to admit as a result. His Vendettas are hard to forget and opinions hard to change.

How you are wondering I bet, I came to know him? I met him one night in a pub, just sitting there alone with a look on his face which suggest a person who has weathered through much and yet still had far more to do. Stood out like a sore thumb. As I had nothing to do that evening apart from drink myself stupid, I sat down and started to speak about some random topic, and as it went it turned this man had much to say about many things about the aspects of modern life in this corner of the globe, with all the good times and the bad that comes with it. At first you think, oh yeah, blah blah. But the way he talked, it was something quite unexpected. I began listening. Here’s what he had to say….”

Sounds like a cool opener doesn’t it? Well alright, it sounds like a load of bollocks but for an initial draft I wouldn’t say it’s bad. You lot can though. So by all means, tell me if that sounds like a load of poo. The book will get rewritten with what has been produced so far, with some other stories being introduced and others going into more detail that will get a review by selected people before approaching an agent or directly a publisher. Sounds serious doesn’t it? :)
Last week saw two good things happen. One, Thunder in Wolverhampton and Two, Night with the lady friend and the Casino Royale.

Now for starters as I said before I have never heard of Thunder until Steve asked about this, and well, what can I say? The last time I went to anything Rocky, was when I went to Rock Kitchen with Glyn in Manchester, where my memory fades a bit, but I remember shoulders hurting as a result of bashing into Glyn “Mosh Pit” style, kissing a girl who was involved with someone who had gone to the toilet, Whoops there, A guy who was dancing around in Bermuda shorts and a Hawaiian shirt, first on his bill in the middle of the room and then around the stage with the band that was playing. Also some random talking to people on the bus home, and some throwing up was involved. Can’t really remember that much else being honest. But naturally the man of the world that I am, after Steve kindly asked, I was ready for another go.

We met up in Telford, after getting changed, and proceeded to Wolverhampton, all the while, I was completely lost in the conversation, as the fans kept talking about Thunder in various ways, you know you get that feeling of all you can do is just say, yeah. No matter how you try to join in sometimes, you are just better off saying nothing. Which for me, is very hard to do, as most people will tell you! We had a drink and a natter at the little civic, which lives up it’s name quite well, and no-one could be arsed about the opening act, as they were nobodys. Fair enough!

When we went in however it was a different story, we stepped into a rock rest home. I have never seen so many old men and women (both with beards) in one place for music! I was a bit sceptical as you normally would be but never mind. There were only two lovely ladies which stood out, and one of those were on the door coming in! The other was halfway through the concert, when this woman was bouncing on someone’s shoulders with the leather leaving nothing to the imagination. Hmm, it was a very nice view to be sure!!

Now then as for Thunder, they are getting on a bit. It has to be said. But the way they were on stage, you wouldn’t think it. They really gave it their all, and being fair it was fantastic music too. A mix of the rock from the 80’s and early 90’s with only a couple of slow songs to calm down with. The lead singer, who I have know idea who he is called, can really belt out his voice! The red guitar player always looked like he was having sex with his instrument (don’t we all?) and even the drummer had to be applauded, Harry. Who I only know the name of as everyone in the place was shouting his name as he came from behind the drums and played one song on the guitar while the others watched. (Thought his name was Larry) He can sing as well! Haven’t a clue and all the music, except for one song, which I swear blind someone else did.

So all in all, not quite a Thunder fan, but I will be giving them more time on the ol’ IPOD. Cheers Steve, and count me in for the next one too!

Wednesday, was Natalie Night. Actually that sounds good. Natalie Night, could be a catchy title there. Anyhoo, we set off from Acton Pigout or whatever and found that when we got there, all the showings till 9:30 were taken. Maybe this bond film is popular? NAH! Must just be me. With a couple of hours to kill, we went for a Chinese and a drink in the pub across the road. During the meal, the Happy birthday song was being played for all those lucky people who were there to celebrate. Lost bloody count how many times that went on, I swear, the staff are going to break and one day, they are just going to flip and shove the chopsticks in very nasty places. I’ve seen the films, I know what happens!

It was also at this time that Natalie has a few hidden talents which possibly aid in surviving in this harsh world of ours such as the ability to put together a Kalashnikov rifle. It turns out during the late years of the Soviet Union, women were made to learn how to assemble guns and walk around in hot pants and kinky boots. Tell me where this is bad!!! At that point if you were to ask me what I was thinking, it would be unsuitable for young children. Or indeed most adults. The topic of how men and women are different came up again, as well as other topical items such as the fact her mum now knows of my existence. Eep.

The film itself was nothing short of brilliant. I am so glad that I was wrong about Mr Craig’s abilities to play the manliest man on the planet, 007. So were an awful lot of people as it goes, You can’t have a blond Bond. Turns out, you can. He turns out to be a good actor. Played Bond with some serious attitude, throughout he had presence. And well, to be honest for those who haven’t seen the film, please go, then I can go through my favourite scenes as there are quite a few to choose from (the construction site at the beginning is one of them). And hell we even have a bond theme tune that isn’t half bad as well, You know my name, by Chris Cornell. Hmm, does anyone know my name? No not arsewipe. And not that either….cheeky people. The week drifted along to Friday night as it goes, when a long gone collegue from work came down from bonny Scotland to say hello to people and generally it seems get tips on backup solutions, Yes, when rob is drunk, he talks about Backup Solutions and nothing else. Dear god! But then again, he is a genius when it comes the systems, but you do want slightly more than that. It was great to see him in any case, you see he is a great fella to talk to as well so when the opportunity comes to catch up, you tend to take it. The evening had progressed to when It was down to just Rob, Tom, and myself, after convincing from Tom, we travelled to shrewsbury out of the blue and partied on man!

Liquid out did itself again with a wide choice of talent on display which tom was more than happy going after. Rob and I just went for the crap dancing and staring. Of which there was much of both. And hats off to the two dancers who were fantastically, um, flexible.
Saturday was a surprise day, as Mum and dad came to visit, thus f**king up my plans with Natalie that very night. It didn’t get better as I was very late that evening, and Natalie, well, she wasn’t happy any way. You see, my lateness for everything is really going to get me into shit soon, and I need help. Not just talking for ladies here, it’s for work, and everything else I have go places for. If anyone knows of a good time management course, then please let me know, so I can forget about it, then turn up late.

The night got slightly better, as we met Rob and Neville in Weatherspoons, and proceeded to the armoury before calling it an early evening. It was early as a lot of people who were going to turn up, failed to do so, and therefore conversation was a bit shit. Tried my best, but there is only so much you can do. Tis one of the problems that more often of not you get with people from Work. All they can talk about is work. I ask you why? The whole time can not be spent moaning about a project manager from here or there, you expect it to go to other interesting things like why is the world round, or what’s that coming over the hill? Is it a Monster? I always think it’s kind of sad when people resort to only being able to talk about work all the time. The night ended better though, so we go onto Sunday now.

Sunday was spent recuperating, spending a lot of time trying for neither love nor money to get a reasonable design using CSS for the ecommerce website. Well despite spending a lot of time on the CSS stuff, it is not easy and one look in Dreamweaver was completely different in Internet Explorer. It will take a lot of time to get around it, so I may just stay with the mess I have cobbled together and just get the site finished off, and the documentation too.

Well folks, after a rather boring update I must confess, there are some more things afoot, so until next time, cherrio!!

24: Sunday 19th November

The Lord of Leisure | November 19, 2006

Well more work has been done. Aside from last weekend and Tuesday, Wednesday where i pissed away the time by playing games and enjoying some time with Natalie, All I have been bloody doing is work it seems during my week off and even the weekends. WHY!?! This is just unfair. And despite the amount of work done on the Systems Analysis, The Network Concepts new assignment and getting further in the pursuit of how to achieve a working ecommerce site, there is still far far and repeat again, far too much to do. I tell you what, It feels like last year at Uni, there was less work to do at once and they said that was busy.

This is now getting f**king stupid.

On a big big plus, I have done around 9500 words on the book and have sent two copies out so far for critism. If it turns out it would be complete crap and wouldn’t really be the type of thing people would want to read then I may leave there. The ultimate test will be the selling to the publishers. If they don’t want it, then never mind. May just write it anyway and then just have a PDF avalible on the internet.

Christ I just relised, this is one of the most boring weeks I have ever published on the blog. Maybe the updates which came every two weeks were far better to do instead! But despite that this next week promises much to write about.

Monday: MORE WORK!!
Tuesday: Wolverhampton Gig with Thunder
Wednesday: Casino Royale with Natalie
Thursday: College / Possible Night out for Birthday of Niki from Work
Friday: Buffs night
Weekend: More Work and Messing about

Take care everyone and for god’s sake, DO SOMETHING!

24: Friday: Wow I actually did something!

The Lord of Leisure | November 17, 2006

Well an update is very brief here, I got some college work done today, started the second assignment on Systems Analysis, along with sorting out the admin part of the website. Still have the mountain of the store catalog and the shopping cart to sort, but it is getting better now. Glyn, you have helped lots mate, and I will draw on your immense experience shortly. I will repay my debt soon as well.

Even found time to write about 500 words extra on the first chapter. Not much but it needs beefing up in terms of history and some of the things which have happened which may or may not explain why I am what I am. But a lot more needs to be written given the last few months as well, given that more is come, I have to snap to it!!

Even got invited to a gig in Wolverhampton on Tuesday with a backstage pass to the after show party next week out of the blue. Isn’t life good atm? Have to ask though, anyone know who Thunder are?

The sad thing is my week off has ended. I want more time to do more things. Still, tis been fun folks.

24: Update on Thursday

The Lord of Leisure | November 16, 2006

The headlines

Have discovered that I have set items to be not null in MYSQL the bloody form start working (the code was bang on the money!!) Have also discovered how to display things from a table in the database. All that remains is the shopping cart and page designs and I could be home free!!

Spent Wednesday at home watching Hotel Babylon with Natalie before heading to Birmingham to spend time there both trying to get a free replacement Ipod (just seeing if i could get the newer model uder the pretense of saying the battery was knackered!) and spent some time with some of Nat’s friends, Iginos and Laura who live around Soilhull, which was nice. Possible trip there ensues.

Wasted more time playing pschonauts, spent around £470 on the car for it’s MOT and servicing, spent more money on RAM for the laptop which appearently god knows when I will get it. Damn you cruical!

Oh and I haven’t written any more on the book yet. Chapter 1 needs more adding to it as it is way incomplete for a previously on 24 chapter. All in all campers, I want more time off!!!

24: Monday begins with a struggle

The Lord of Leisure | November 13, 2006

Good Afternoon people, as I am off this week, i thought a ever so brief update was in order. First off, cheers for the comments from the weekend, yes I am busy but as you can see it was worth it! I have written around 2000 words for the book, you see i needed a foreword and 3 chapters to begin with from what I have been reading in order to sell the idea to a publisher via an agent or directly.

The first chapter, is a Prevoiusly on 24, a summary of all things which had happened up till the beggining of the year of 24. So far so good, but I am amazed, when I actaully look back now, it seems there is a hell of a lot I could write about the past, let alone what is going on now, but alas it must be cut. Problem is when I get writers block, it’s going to suck.

My examination of the Web Design Assignment has me filled with dread. It is a hell of a lot harder than I first thought, by a long mile and may force me to pull back from a few things I had planned this week to get really into it. For what we need to do, we have not been taught enough to complete, and I suspect that will remain the case. I will also start the second systems analysis assignment this week, hopefully getting the majority out of the way. That is the plan anyway, but my plans have a nasty habit of falling apart.

The car is getting fixed at the moment which means I am stuck at home, which is just as well considering what I have to do. So much for a week off eh campers? Though I must confess I wasted the whole of sunday in my dressing gown playing Splinter Cell, (which is a lot f**king harder than the previous ones) and a spir of the moment purchase from Steam, called Psychonauts, came out on playstation a long time ago, and got ported to PC. That platform game is actually one of the best I have ever played and it was well worth the 23 dollars I paid. Go and get it now kids. So for the wasted day, twas my fault but god I needed one of those.

Will update again as time goes on.

24: The Great Update of November 06

The Lord of Leisure | November 11, 2006

Well campers I guess it is time I do update the blog, after comments from Thursday night where I was asked why I hadn’t updated in so long.

Truth be told other things have taken a priority. Uni with assignments for Systems Analysis, Network Concepts had to be completed, and I have got to make a major start now on the PHP MySQL Website, I have the information I need to make a basic site atm, and it is just a case of sifting through all the rubbish to achieve my goal, well finishing the project, World Domination will just have to wait.

But I suspect that only two or three of you want to hear about Computer stuff, the rest want the juicy gear as to what I going on in Funkytown out and about and also to catch up with what happened in London, Liverpool, Shrewsbury, Telford, Oswestry and even Ruthin. Yes over the past couple of weeks, I have gone across England, and a tiny bit of Wales, in search of S**ts and giggles. I tell you what, with all that has been going on, I suppose I could write an autobiographical masterpiece, hell I counted the words of the blog using Word (and 5 spare minutes at work!! : ), and found that since the start of the blog which was end of August, or roundabouts I had already gone over 14,000 words, and Chris Moyles’ autobiography (which I have just purchased and reading the first bit of it, it is very funny) was around 70,000 words.

I admit a lot of it is waffle and a lot can be got rid of, but events that have taken place in my life had been described in great detail. Perhaps a year in the life of….. Book, of just one person who isn’t famous, lives out his meagre existence, just going here there, meeting various characters and enjoying. The “adventure” is chronicled and then all nicely separated into 12 chapters each for a month of the year. Of course the back story to me some of it would have to be there in order for some of it to make sense, which regrettably and in a few cases painfully, will bring back some of the ghosts from the past only one of which has actually been documented, there are many other cases where I and other people have been right so-and-so’s which, well for the moment, enough said. I know I would lose friends. Any any case, it does sound like a plan, and indeed one I will investigate further.

In the meantime Let’s play blockbusters!!

26th October, 8pm. I had met with Natalie to have some dinner at a pizza place in Shrewsbury before travelling down to London on the train. The tickets were booked quite late in the night travelling as I thought college / Uni / Evil lair would be on that week, but when it came to it, it was Half term! DOH! We got to Birmingham for the change and had a brief wander round as it’s been quite a while since I had last been there, Natalie loved the place, with the City lit up and the fountain by the library. Of course there were no people about, and it was just all good, despite getting tired. We were staying at one of her friend’s flats who lived in the docklands and because we were arriving at one in the morning at Euston (I buggered it up a bit!) we would be getting a taxi. We had lots of fun driving past canary wharf, and then getting lost up and down the same road because the one bloody road we were looking for wasn’t signposted! YARRR! Despite this, we were only charged 25 quid for the whole lot which is absolutely fantastic for London really, you would expect the cabbies to be robbing b******ds, but no the one we had was nothing short of brilliant. Squire, I salute you.

Having got to the flat we just settled down for the night on a nice air bed on her friends room, which bleeding escapes me what her name is. Think dammit think! Right where was I? ah yes, we awoke the next day, all tired and happy, and had a jolly good natter with (insert name here when you can remember what her name was!!) all about how she’s enjoying London, the fact that 6 people live in the same place, the gigs that go on, etc. The view was nice, with the Dome viewable. Is it me, or could the dome be turned upside down and turned into a huge wok? The world biggest stir fry…hmmmmm

Our quest for the holy foreign passport of woe lay before us this day. We would fight many foes plundering said treasure from the clutches of Balddourzer, lord of the Passport underworld. True, he send his minions upon us, but we will crush them, and find out truly who is number one…or something similar.

You see, the Department of Work and Pensions , the great people that they are, you know you love them, lost her passport and then proceeded to blame it on the post. Therefore she had to travel to the embassy down London way and fill out huge amounts of paperwork. The place is small, busy packed with other nationals, kids screaming (universal language there it seems), and I had a chance to see what the fuss of vinous is about. Looks nice at least….umm, that’s about it. Wait hang on, they are all into Jazz in a big way. And some of the Lithuanian women are smoking my friends, Oh yes, it appears that a fair few women who turned up that day were pleasing to the eye. Makes you wonder about other countries doesn’t it? Mentioned this to Natalie, who agreed. Absolutely bizarre, that I can carry on perving away at women, making all sorts of comments and Nat joins in!! Every man’s dream!!

After a lot of running around for forms, new passport photos because the size is wrong or something stupid like that, she finally got told the news that it would be 2 months till it was ready! God bless burecracy! Which even better means that she is here over new year!! Proper Bo selecta! Granted though it seems I am delaying the heartache of when she goes, but the whole point of this is that I have no idea what I am going to do. It may carry on regardless, which as it stands I hope it does. We spent the rest of the day walking around London, we took in the national art gallery, which had Van Gogh’s Sunflowers on show, which was nice! Here’s Nat outside, who looked like a bleeding Eskimo for most of the day:

she

For someone who comes from a cold country, she is constantly freezing over here, and it isn’t any where near as bad. Asked about this and apparently there are different kinds of cold. Wet cold and dry cold for instance. Sounds like Bollocks to me…
Anyway, we walked by the Thames at night, had a look a the big hamster wheel they put up by Parliament, Watched a video on a big screen as it was the Times’ Film Festival down there, the film was shit. Asbo boy legging it from three people who looked alike. WOW! I could do something better if you shoved a mop up my arse and I was bouncing on a trampoline. Along the way, we saw a classical band performing in convent garden of which a picture is here.

crazy violin people

They were great chasing people around still playing their fiddles, and had a bloody good natter. We got back to Shrewsbury about 1 in the morning again! Oswestry at 2am. Twas long but well worth it.

Enough of this mushy shite. I am a man, I do manly things. I fart, belch, swear, leer at women, and have laughs at people’s expense. Right now I am in the zone! Go forth my children, spread the good word of the Hughes.

The rest of the weekend past without too much excitement I guess, except, for one or two moments. The next exciting thing on the horizon was of course Shrewsbury, and our monthly outing to Liquid to “boogie” and get home with the downies or is that the other way around? There were indeed a few highlights of note from that night. One, I managed to convince Chris Hancock to actually come out to Shrewsbury for the first time in ages, he has been the butt of many jokes (not just the name, sports fans…) because at the last minute he always found something better to do. Our ranks had swelled. Another fact was that Laura, a lovely woman I must say, wink, wink, nudge, nudge, had said she’s getting divorced and made it clear, on numerous occasions throughout the night, and even now, she was single again. At first I thought it was a joke, and said yeah, yeah, blah, blah, insert sexist comment here there, then she held up her hand to show no wedding ring. I became a shop window dummy.

I had sneaky suspicions for a while after we had seen husband and wife together, but just thought ah, tis marriage, it’s meant to be shit. And then after seeing and hearing this, the 1st thought I had was, there is a god. 2nd thought, can’t and won’t do anything about it. 3rd thought, more booze. Anyhoo, a good night was had by all, and another of the highlights for me was grabbing both Laura’s and Natalie’s arses at the same time at the bar. Think I could chalk that down as a tick in the box of life!! Had to mention it because I still can’t believe I got to do it! I feel like the fonz.

The next day, we were around Shrewsbury, getting a few bits and bobs before heading to Mancot and then to Liverpool, the three stooges, Larry, curly and everyone’s favourite, Mo. I even managed to get us lost twice, once before even getting to Liverpool (which was nice) and when actually at Liverpool, (which was even nicer!) We got to the academy and took our places at the stage. Place was a lot smaller than I thought it would be, but then again it did make for a more intimate and fun gig. The first band, which was called Duke Special, who I think it, is safe to say no-one has heard of, but who were actually very good. Two men, a piano and a drum kit. And this strange looking thing on a stick which the guy who played drums banged away (if you will pardon the expression) for one of the songs, was a load of instruments all duct taped on, and it was fantastic to see and hear!! Then of course the main event: The Divine Comedy

Now I had seen some of their set from earlier in the year at the V festival, you lot may remember the pictures (if not go a few pages on the blog to find them) and I was impressed then. A full set however was fantastic, with a few surprises, they did two requests of songs from their back catalogue, Neil Hannon had forgotten the words and even half the tune to the frog princess, and said “That’s why we have set-lists!” Just hearing Something for the Weekend, Die a Virgin, More Like Alfie (which was the muse for one of the blog entries) along with The Plough, Mother Dear and of course the one song which most people seem to know them for, National Express which was a huge singing session, it was just a fantastic Saturday night out! Sorry for no pictures but someone (who shall remain nameless at the moment till I get it back) didn’t give me back the digital camera, and camera phones are crap. Matt liked it, and it also meant he got out of the house instead of staying in all the time. Natalie had never known a venue like it. Well, guess you could take that one of two ways really, couldn’t you? 

After a hearty dirty meat meal from a kebab place we went back, as other people who were going to go out, all decided to not venture out. Some for money, and the rest, well, f**k knows really. Never mind. Breakfast at tiffany’s (Mancot) the next day and we all went home. Ah, twas truly something for the Weekend, my friends.

This week, passed without too much incident until the Thursday. Had to complete the Systems Analysis assignment, and spoke to Sian Tuesday, who had indicated that a birthday out with Ruth and Laura (not camp, by the way, this Laura is from Ruthin, there is back story there with her, but as I can’t arsed typing, we won’t go into her. Don’t worry, there is not really much there at all, it just sounded good at the time of writing) was taking place. I was informed of this, but as Ruth had not contacted me, I wasn’t going. The one thing you don’t do is go to someone’s birthday night out unless you are invited by the birthday person. It just seems rude. Then again, that hasn’t stopped me in the past. That changed however at around 9:30am Thursday morning, when I received a message indicating that my presence was required. I had college then, and wasn’t sure if I could finish in time to go. Then as luck would have it, things did actually work out (my, one could say “what a coincidence, Paul just happens to be free at that point, isn’t life weird”, to which I reply “Could you point out the point at where I start caring?”), and I made my merry way to sunny Wales.

Saw Dave there, which was a welcome sight, hadn’t seen or heard from him in yonks. Hello Dave, hope the car is as good as you hoped! There we are, I have done the nice message which only Dave will understand. Isn’t padding out text fun? Anyway, also met some other people I have never seen before, and whom I got the impression merely tolerated my presence. Guess the Stranger from the outside mentality of the olde villages is still rife. Saw of course Ruth, Sian and Laura, though it was quite amusing that I hardly said a word to Ruth for most of the evening. Laura was drunk and wondering why her love life was crap. Sian and I did the talking bit. It wasn’t the best night I must confess, but at least I saw a few faces I hadn’t seen in a while, and that was good in itself. People asked about Natalie, to which I responded as best I could.

Friday, after work, found Splinter Cell 4 on my desk, and also as a side note really here, got sworn into the Royal Antediluvian Order of Buffaloes. Like the freemasons except less handshakes and murders. Cheers Keith, you really got me scared with the whole ceremony thing, and when the blindfold came out, thought, yep, gonna be killed. The best part about that is I swore an oath to not write about or tell anyone about the inner workings.

Hmm, am I honourable?

NAHHHH! Except in this one instance. I signed up to see what it was like, after all they are came to Uncle Dave’s funeral last year, and performed a small ceremony at the church. It was beautiful and as such Keith, had mentioned them an awful lot. Uncle Dave was a member of them too, so I at long last agreed to see how it goes. Wish me luck!!

See what can happen if you just say yes? Bottom line after all this, life is only what you make of it yourself. This is why I do so much that I can actually write about, I make it interesting. And by just doing different things, you can get both unexpected surprises and rewards. Be they good or bad, it’s fantastic, and I sincerely hope there is a lot more to come. Right now, I am off to play Splinter Cell 4. You’all come back now ya hear!

Space Adventurer signing off.

24: Tis too long since you last fought at my side

The Lord of Leisure | November 9, 2006

Yes regretfully, I have been very much awol again since the last update, which was about 2 weeks ago again!

Dear me, It’s almost like other things are going on!! There won’t be much here at the moment, but rest assured the weekend will bring forth a bounty of news, about London, The Divine Comedy and numerous other things from the World of Hughes.

Glyn mate, I will contact you as soon as possible as I read your blog, and you are annoyed by no-one contacting again. My sincere apologies mate, but as you can imagine; There is not enough time in the day for most things. That actually goes for other people who I haven’t spoke to in a while.

Anyway campers I will write more at the weekend for you all and remember.

Badgers aren’t just for christmas.
